The National Weather Service says light snow and gusting winds could make travel hazardous today in much of Nebraska. Wind chills of 10 to 15 below zero are expected this afternoon.
Road conditions are slick once again today especially on untreated roads or those with limited traffic. The Nebraska State Patrol reported Department of Roads de-icing trucks were out this morning on area roads. Streets in Norfolk are also quite slick this morning. Authorities says slow down and allow plenty of time to reach your destination.
Should you be able to shoot a masked, but apparently unarmed, intruder in your house without fear of being prosecuted? Some lawmakers and the National Rifle Association are pushing hard for Nebraska to become the 25th state with a so-called castle-doctrine law that gives shooters significantly more legal protections. Opponents argue it would allow deadly force in cases where it may not be clearly warranted.

Super Bowl viewers were likely startled by a promo for CBS late-night host David Letterman. It included longtime rival Jay Leno of NBC, and Oprah Winfrey. As they sit on a couch, Letterman grumbles, "This is the worst Super Bowl party ever." Leno replies that Dave's "just saying that because I'm here."
