Zoning Change Approved along Queen City Boulevard

NORFOLK - A zoning change and final plat have been approved to allow a developer to construct two three-unit residential units along Queen City Boulevard. At this morning’s meeting, the Norfolk Planning Commission gave unanimous approval to change the zoning in the 700 block of Queen City Boulevard from R-1, single family residential, to R-3, multiple family residential; and also approved a final plat with two lots. Developer Benjamin Conover says he might decide to split the property into six lots, allowing him to sell each of the units rather than operating them as rentals. City Public Works Director Dennis Smith says there is still time to make that decision, since it will be some time before the final plat will be considered by the City Council.
