West Nile Virus Detected In Norfolk
NORFOLK - A bird collected earlier this month in Norfolk has tested positive for the West Nile Virus. City Health Inspector John Kouba says there have been no human cases reported. West Nile is transmitted from birds to humans through the bites of mosquitoes. Kouba says bird samples will continue to be collected for West Nile Virus testing. He says it's also important to remove any stagnant water on your property in things like old tires, buckets, garbage cans without lids areas where mosquitoes can breed.
