Wayne Cleans Up After Tornado
WAYNE - The mayor of Wayne says the clean up is progressing amazingly fast in his city, hit about 5:30 Friday night by a tornado rated as an EF4 by the National Weather Service. Ken Chamberlain told reporters at a briefing last night he has no doubt the cleanup and rebuilding process will move ahead smoothly. Volunteers are needed to help manage the debris, both in Wayne and in the agricultural land nearby. The Red Cross is handling the volunteers, and people can go to the Red Cross center at the National Guard Armory in Wayne or use the 211 (two-one-one) system to register. That can be accessed by either dialing 211 from you phone or using the website 211.org. The 211 system also works for those who need assistance.
