Wanted Sex Offender with Ties to Norfolk Arrested in Arizona
FAIRBURY - The Arizona Highway Patrol has arrested a former Norfolk man wanted on several counts of sexual assault of a child in Fairbury. Fairbury Police Chief Chad Sprunk says 30-year-old Billy Barritt was arrested about 10:30 Thursday morning on Interstate 40 just inside Mojave County in Arizona. He fled Fairbury when he learned he was a suspect in the sexual assault of several children under the age of 10. Sprunk says authorities had reason to believe that Barritt would come to the Norfolk area because he has family here. Several reports and evidence on surveillance cameras did place Barritt in Norfolk earlier this week. Sprunk says Barritt's black Chevrolet pickup was spotted in Arizona on Thursday.
