Voter Turnout Disappoints County Clerk

MADISON - Madison County Clerk Nancy Scheer had been hoping for a good voter turnout in yesterday's General Election - perhaps even a record. But when all the ballots were counted last night, the voter turnout in Madison County was a disappointing 64.26 percent. Scheer says she was surprised by the low turnout. Scheer said early voting set a record in the county, and poll workers in Norfolk reported brisk voting all day Tuesday.
