Vets Home Receives Perfect Score - Again!
NORFOLK - The Norfolk Veterans’ Home has once received a perfect score on its annual Health Care System Survey. This is the third year in a row that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has found no deficiencies at the local veterans’ home. The facility was found deficiency-free in the areas of life safety, resident care, environment, staff training and development, dietary and food service, banking and billing services for veterans, recreational activities, medical staff credentialing, social work and all areas related to quality assurance and care. A VA team of three nurses, a registered dietician and a life safety code expert commented on the competent and loving care provided to members, the cleanliness of the facility and the satisfaction of members and their families. The Norfolk Veterans’ Home is part of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
