Veterans Day Programs Planned in Norfolk

NORFOLK - Several Veterans Day programs will be held in Norfolk Monday. Past State American Legion Commander Doug Boldt of Callaway will speak at four events, beginning with a program at 8:15 a.m. at Norfolk Catholic High School. Boldt will also be present for a 9:15 flag-raising ceremony at the Veterans Home, and speak at a 9:30 program there. The third program will begin at 10:30 at Norfolk Senior High, and a children's Veterans Day program will be held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at Christ Lutheran Church. At Northeast Community College, a flag ceremony is planned at 8:45 a.m. in front of the Welcome Center, with a program at 11 a.m. in the Cox Activities Center Theatre. The featured speaker will be College President Dr. Michael Chipps, who retired in 1995 after serving 21 years in the U.S. Army Reserve.
