U.S. Senate Candidate McCleay Visits Norfolk, Wayne

NORFOLK - One of four men seeking the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate from Nebraska was in Norfolk Thursday, visiting with area businessmen and other citizens.  Bart McCleay has been a business lawyer in Omaha for 28 years. He says his legal background would be helpful in dealing with what he sees as serious constitutional issues and an erosion of civil liberties.  McCleay says he grew up in Omaha, but his family homesteaded in Stapleton and Nebraska City.  Other candidates in the Republican race are former State Treasurer and Norfolk native Shane Osborn, Midland University President Ben Sasse, and Pinnacle Bank President Sid Dinsdale. Jim Jenkins of Callaway has entered the Senate race as an independent candidate. No Democrats have announced for the position.
