Unsubstantiated Report of Home Invasion in Battle Creek
BATTLE CREEK - Schools in Battle Creek were in lock down for about three hours this morning after a report of a home invasion on the north edge of the community. State Patrol Troop B Captain Paul Hattan says a report came in about 9 a.m. of the possibility of a home invasion. Officers from the Battle Creek City Police, Madison County Sheriff and State Patrol responded. Hattan says officers were unable to find any evidence that supports the report of a home invasion, but continue to investigate the situation. Hattan says schools were notified about 11:30 that the situation no longer warranted locking their facilities.
