UNMC Nursing Camp a Hands-On Experience
NORFOLK - Twenty-two area high school students spent the last two days at the J.Paul and Eleanor McIntosh College of Nursing Building on the campus of Northeast Community College. They were taking part in the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing Summer Camp. UNMC Assistant Dean Dr. Liane Connelly says this is the 2nd year for the camp and is designed to help students who have shown interest in nursing decide if the profession is for them. Campers were paired with nurses in the community and spent some time job shadowing. They also used simulators, and worked through several scenarios with local EMTs.
