United Way Kicks Off with 30% of Goal Already Pledged

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Area United Way campaign for 2014 kicked off today – with a big report from the Pacesetter Division. The Pacesetter Division represents the largest employers in Norfolk, and starts working about a month before the general campaign. Some Pacesetter firms have already completed their drives, and reported nearly $164,000 in contributions. That represents 40-percent of the Pacesetter goal, and more than 30-percent of the total goal of $537,700. The first United Way General Campaign report meeting will be Wednesday, September 25th at noon at the Time Square Event Center. Campaign Chairman Juan Sandoval urged volunteers to begin their work immediately, and challenged them to have raised 60-percent of the goal by the September 25th meeting.
