Two Lose Bids to Serve on State Boards

NORFOLK - Two Norfolk businessmen who sought positions on state boards were defeated in Tuesday's election. Tom Schommer was running for the State School Board against Rachel Wise. She won the race with 56 percent of the vote, and will replace Jim Scheer, who won election to the Nebraska Legislature. Dave Copple lost his race for University of Nebraska Board of Regents for District 3 to Jim Pillen of Columbus. Pillen received 64 percent of the vote.
