Three Injured in Colfax County Crash

SCHUYLER - Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Colfax County early Sunday morning. County Attorney Denise Kracl reports that 20-year-old Annamarie Speicher of Columbus was northbound on a county road and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 30. Her vehicle collided with a westbound semi driven by 51-year-old Kevin Gewecke of Schuyler just before 5 a.m.. Speicher and one of her passengers, 26-year-old Preston Valish were pinned in the vehicle and extracted by Colfax County Sheriff’s officers and Schuyler Fire and Rescue. Speicher, Valish and another passenger, 21-year-old Tara Hollis were taken to the Columbus Hospital for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
