Three Arrested after Saturday Disturbance
NORFOLK-Norfolk Police arrested three men Saturday afternoon on charges ranging from criminal mischief to possession of methamphetamine. Police Captain Mike Bauer says Rafael Hernandez, 20, oF Norfolk, Abraham Zarate, 30, of Madison and Joel DeLaCruz, 24, of Norfolk were involved in a disturbance in the 500 block of South 13th about 2:54 Saturday afternoon. Callers reported two groups of men in vehicles yelling at each other after a collision. One of the men was reported to have a knife, and one witness said one of the cars intentionally rammed the other. Bauer says the investigation turned up a knife, multiple small plastic bags, a digital scale and a white crystalline substance that tested positive for meth. Hernandez was arrested for obstructing a police officer, possession of a controlled substance and on a Platte County warrant. Zarate faces charges of criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; while DeLaCruz was arrested for possession of a methamphetamine. Bauer says all three men were housed in the Norfolk City Jail before being transferred to the Madison County Jail.
