There's Still Time to Work on Youth Philanthropy Entries

NORFOLK -   For the third consecutive year, officials with Norfolk’s Philanthropy Council are looking for young people who want to make a difference.  Philanthropy Contest Chair Tammy Day says 30 kids’ projects have been funded during the first two years of the contest and have impacted thousands of people.  Day says there’s still plenty of time to submit your project.  Registration forms are available at  Day says you’ll need to include a budget and visual display such as photos of or a video.  The Youth Philanthropy Contest Family Event is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, February 1st from 4 to 6 at Northeast Community College’s Lifelong Learning Center.  You can drop off your projects either Friday, January 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday the 1st from 9 to noon.  Ten winners will receive $1,000 each.  Award winners will be announced that Saturday afternoon.  Others will be able to demonstrate their projects at the Celebrate Giving event Saturday night, February 15th, where attendees may choose to fund those projects.
