Survey Finds Nebraska's Hiring Prospects for Early 2014 Good, Not Great

LINCOLN - We'll be in 2014 soon and with the new year comes new job opportunities in Nebraska, according to the latest survey from Manpower, Inc.   Spokesperson Karen Miller says key employers across the state were questioned about their hiring plans for the January to March timeframe and only about seven percent of them anticipate making staff cuts.  Meanwhile, 74 percent say they will maintain thier current staff levels, while 15 percent will be hiring additional staff.  Hiring should be at a moderate pace in Nebraska during the first quarter, Miller says, with the best options coming in industries like durable goods manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, and government.
