State Patrol Investigates 2 Accidents Involving Semis

NORFOLK - At least two accidents in Northeast Nebraska this (Friday) morning have involved semitrailers. State Patrol Troop Captain Paul Hattan says Nucor Road north of Norfolk was closed for some time this morning when a semi overturned at the intersection with Victory Road. He estimated that Nucor Road should be open by noon. Earlier this morning, a Nebraska Department of Roads truck with a snowplow was involved in an accident with a semi at the junction of Highways 77 and 94 near Walthill. Hattan says the snowplow truck was on Highway 94 headed east and was stopped at a stop sign. The semi was headed north when the snowplow truck pulled out in front of it. The semi tried to avoid the snowplow by moving to the right, but the semi and snowplow collided. The semi went into the ditch, then struck and climbed an embankment. Hattan says the semi was totaled and the plow on the truck was damaged. Neither driver was injured.
