State Climatologist to Speak at Farm Show

NORFOLK - The 27th annual Northeast Nebraska Farm and Equipment Show will be held next Wednesday and Thursday in the Chuck M. Pohlman Ag Complex at Northeast Community College.  Hours are from 9 until 5 on Wednesday, and 9 to 4 Thursday. There is no admission charge and several door prizes will be given away both days.  Six educational presentations will be offered over the two days. State Climatologist Al Dutcher will give the first workshop on weather risks for agriculture in 2014. Dutcher’s presentation will begin at 10:30 Wednesday.  At 12:30, UNL Public Policy Specialist Dr. Brad Lubben (LOO-bun) will discuss the 2014 Farm Bill, and at 2:30, Wade Johannes with the ProEdge Marketing Group at Central Valley Ag will conduct a marketing workshop.  Presentations on Thursday will look at cash rent arrangements, farm safety and D.O.T. regulations, and estate planning.
