State Attorney General: Check Your Card Statements

LINCOLN - Attorney General Jon Bruning is urging Nebraskans who shopped at Target to closely review their credit and debit card statements.  Bruning says the data breach occurred at all Target stores across the nation between Black Friday and December 15th.  Bruning says he sees no need to cancel credit or debit cards, and that the card companies will assume any liabilities stemming from the data breach.  Target has apologized for the breach that affected up to 40 million credit and debit card accounts across the country. Bruning says consumers should also log on the free government website annualcreditreport.com.  It provides one free credit report each year.
