Wayne State softball adds a catcher

Wayne State Head Softball Coach Krista Wood has announced that Kayla Gritt of Texas has signed with Wayne State to play softball for the Wildcats in the 2012-13.  Gritt joins eight other players as members of the 2012 Wildcat recruiting class.  Gritt is a catcher who transfers to WSC from Highland Community College in Kansas after playing softball for two seasons.  In both the 2011 & 2012 seasons, she was named First Team All-Region and was First Team All-Conference in 2011.  Wayne State finished the 2012 season with a 28-23 record, finishing eighth in the Northern Sun Conference with a 13-13 league mark while qualifying for the NSIC Tournament.
