State Track & Field Championships conclude
The City of Norfolk was represented in the final day of the State Track & Field Championships at Burke Stadium in Omaha on Saturday. Norfolk Catholic’s Bailey Ehlers was crowned the champion of the Girls High Jump with a mark of 5’4. Also for the Knights, Kegan Ehlers was fifth in the 100 Meter Dash. Bailey Barnes took seventh in the 300 Hurdles. Regarding Norfolk High athletes, Patrick Meuret placed sixth in the 400 Meter Dash. Erica Dover was second in the Shot Put. Claire Sintek got seventh in the High Jump. TaLeah Williams placed seventh in the Triple Jump. Chelsea Johnson was sixth in the 300 Hurdles. The Lady Panther 1600 Meter Relay Team placed third. Lutheran High Northeast’s Dalton Bichlmeier was second in the Discus. Megan Gebhardt took eighth in the 200 Meter Dash. And the Eagle Boys 4X100 Meter Relay team placed second to Battle Creek. The Norfolk High girls totaled 27 points in the Class “A” Competition. The Norfolk Catholic girls accumulated 15 points in Class “B”. The Lutheran High Northeast boys totaled 16 points in the Class “C” Competition.
