It will be the Los Angeles Kings hosting the New York Rangers in Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday.  Marian Gaborik scored late in regulation before Alec Martinez beat Corey Crawford at 5:47 of overtime to give the Kings a 5-4 win at Chicago in Game Seven of the Western Conference Finals.  Jonathan Quick stopped 37 shots for the Kings, who trailed three times in the clincher after blowing a 3-1 lead in the series.

Goals by Fabian Johnson and Clint Dempsey led the United States over Turkey 2-1, the Americans' second straight win in their World Cup sendoff series.  Johnson scored in the 26th minute after failing to produce a goal in his 20 previous national team games.  Dempsey made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute with his 37th international goal.
Jimmie Johnson earned his second victory in as many weeks by taking the checkered flag in the FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway.  Johnson led 272 of 400 laps and earned his ninth win at Dover by holding off pole-sitter Brad Keselowski.  Matt Kenseth finished third, followed by Clint Bowyer and Denny Hamlin.

Taylor Bryant came home with the go-ahead run when Nebraska's Bob Greco balked in the seventh inning and Cal State Fullerton eliminated the Cornhuskers 4-3 in the NCAA Stillwater, Oklahoma Regional yesterday.  Down 3-2 in the seventh, the Titans scored twice without registering a hit.  Jared Deacon was hit by a pitch and moved to second when Bryant reached on an error by Nebraska starting pitcher Aaron Bummer.  One out later, Cornhusker shortstop Steven Reveles could not come up with Keegan Dale's sharp grounder, allowing Deacon to score and advancing Bryant to third.  Blake Headley's RBI single in the sixth gave Nebraska a 3-2 lead.  Austin Darby had two hits in the loss.  Bummer to the loss to drop to 7-5 on the season.  Nebraska’s season ends at 41-21.  Cal State Fullerton ended up losing to Oklahoma State 6-4 last night.  The Cowboys will now advance to a Super Regional Series.

The Omaha World Herald has announced its All-Nebraska Soccer Team.  Reaching the All-Nebraska Boys Second Team were Schuyler’s Agustin Palma and Columbus Scotus’ Cody Zimmerman.  Palma & Zimmerman also reached the Class ‘B’ First Team.  Schuyler’s Juan Alvarado, Daniel Maganda, and Jordan Kort reached the Class ‘B’ Second Team.  Columbus Scotus’ Ryan Fuchs & Jake Bos made the Second Team as well.  Columbus Scotus’ Emily Kosch & Payton Chohon reached the Girls Class ‘B’ Second Team.
