The Creighton's men’s basketball team is in The Associated Press Top 25 for the first time in five years.  The Bluejays enter the ratings at 19th this week after a big road win over San Diego State and a home win over in-state rival Nebraska.  Creighton is 7-0 and ranked for the first time since they were ranked 20th in November 2006.  They have their highest ranking since they were No. 19 in the 2006-07 preseason poll.  The Bluejays also moved up from 22nd to 17th in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll.  Creighton plays one game this week, at St. Joseph's in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Nebraska senior linebacker Lavonte David has joined elite company in Cornhusker history, being named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association yesterday.  The 6’1, 225-pound David has led the Huskers in tackles the past two seasons and become one of the top five tacklers in school history despite playing just two seasons at NU.  He is the 96th first-team All-American in Nebraska history, and when including 14 two-time selections, David gives Nebraska 110 all-time first-team All-America picks.

The Northeast Hawks men & women’s basketball teams swept a home doubleheader from the Dordt JV last night.  The men outscored their opponent 100-95.  Cameron Adderley & Jacquard Hagan both scored 30 points in the win.  Adderley had a double-double with 15 rebounds and Hagan pulled down seven boards, had five steals, and dished out four assists.  K.J.
