Omaha World Herald & Lincoln Journal Star honor area basketball players

    The Omaha World Herald & Lincoln Journal Star have announced their All State Boys & Girls Basketball Teams.  In the Omaha World Herald, regarding boys teams, O’Neill St. Mary’s Adam Moon was named to the “All Nebraska Second Team”.  Wayne’s Grant Anderson was named to the Class “C-1” Second Team.  Hartington Cedar Catholic’s James Kaiser was honored on the Class “C-2” First Team while Lutheran High Northeast’s Mitch Knobbe reached the Second Team.  The Class “D-1” First Team was represented by O’Neill St. Mary’s Adam Moon and Mat Gooch of Howells/Dodge.  Gooch’ teammate Luke Hegemann reached the Second Team.  Moon was named the captain.  The Class “D-2” Second Team was represented by Wynot’s Nathan Wieseler, Wausa’s Marcus Claussen, and Bancroft/Rosalie’s Nick Sjuts.  Wynot’s Jackson Sudbeck reached the Second Team.  Wieseler was named the captain.  
    In the Lincoln Journal Star boys teams, Mat Gooch was named to the Super-State Third Team.  The Class “C-1” Second Team was represented by Wayne’s Jalen Barry & Grant Anderson along with Boone Central/Newman Grove’s Tyler Hedlund.  Hartington Cedar Catholic’s James Kaiser was honored on the Class “C-2” First Team while Lutheran High Northeast’s Mitch Knobbe was honored on the Second Team.  The Class “D-1” First Team was represented by Mat Gooch of Howells/Dodge.  He was named the honorary captain.  O’Neill St. Mary’s Adam Moon joined Gooch on the team.  Randolph’s Grant Anderson & Luke Hegemann of Howells/Dodge were honored on the Second Team.  The Class “D-2” First Team was represented by Wynot’s Nathan Wieseler & Jackson Sudbeck along with Wausa’s Marcus Claussen, and Bancroft/Rosalie’s Nick Sjuts.  Wieseler was named honorary captain.
    In the Omaha World Herald, regarding girls teams, Humphrey High’s Alyssa Frauendorfer was named to the “All Nebraska Second Team” while Crofton’s Bridget Arens and Lindsay Holy Family’s Kaylee Jensen was named to the “All Nebraska Third Team.”.  Norfolk High’s Jaycee Bradley was named to the Class “A” Second Team while Norfolk Catholic’s Michaela Barry reached the Class “C-1” First Team.  Krystina Koepke of Pierce made the Class “C-1” Second Team.  The Class “C-2” First Team was represented by Crofton’s Bridget Arens & Allison Arens along with Homer’s Brandan Tighe.  Bridget Arens was named the captain.  The Class “D-1” First Team was represented by Pender’s Paige Ballinger & Maggie Fillipi, O’Neill St. Mary’s Brooke Bauer, West Point Guardian Angels’ Abby Ortmeier, and Emerson/Hubbard’s Marisa Blanke.  Bauer was named the captain.  The Class “D-2” First Team was represented by Humphrey High’s Alyssa Frauendorfer, Lindsay Holy Family’s Kaylee Jensen, Osmond’s Laurel Krohn, and Wynot’s Maggie Schulte.  Osmond’s Carissa Gutz reached the Second Team.  Frauendorfer was named the captain.
