Northeast Hawks women's basketball team will take on Texas school in opening round of NJCAA National Tournament

The NJCAA 15th ranked Northeast Hawks women’s basketball team will take on 16th ranked Weatherford College of Texas in the opening round of the NJCAA National Tournament in Salina, Kansas on Monday, March 18th at 10:00.  The Hawks are 28-4 on the season while the Lady Coyotes at 24-5.  Both teams enter the tournament coming off losses.  Northeast dropped a 75-70 decision to Crowder College of Missouri in the District ‘K’ Championship last Saturday in Neosho, Missouri.  Weatherford lost their most recent game to Midland College of Texas at the Region 5 Tournament last Saturday 79-74.  The winner will play top ranked 32-1 Trinity Valley of Athens, Texas in the second round on Tuesday, March 19th at 2:00.  It’s the first time that the Hawks have ever qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament in women’s basketball.
