Northeast Hawks basketball teams split games on Friday night
The Northeast Hawks basketball teams split two games at the Hawks Classic yesterday. The Northeast men dropped a 78-69 decision to Iowa Central Community College. The Hawks’ KJ Bluford had 22 points as he was 6-12 from three-point range. He also had three steals. Teammates Sean McGary & Khapri Alston both contributed 13 points. McGary added four assists while Alston also had seven rebounds & four blocked shots. The Tritons led at half-time 37-30. Northeast is now 2-1 on the season. The Northeast women defeated Des Moines Area Community College 76-62 to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Hawks’ A.J. Johnson led four players in double figures with 22 points, eight assists, and two steals. Teammate Allison Klostergaard had a double-double with 14 points and eleven rebounds, and two steals. Lexi Murphy also had a double-double with 13 points, ten rebounds, and three steals. Raveen Murray added 13 points and five assists. The Hawks led 41-26 at half-time.
