Norfolk High track & field, boys golf, & girls soccer
Norfolk High hosted the 88th annual Track & Field Invitational on Friday. In the boys standings, Grand Island was the team champion with 112 points. Millard West was second with 110 and the Panthers were fifth with 50 points. Norfolk’s Ryker Theisen won the Triple Jump. Grand Island’s Kevin Cahoy set a meet record in the Pole Vault with a mark of 15’5. He broke the previous mark of 15’4. In the girls standings, Millard West was the champion with 199 points while the Lady Panthers were second with 83. Champions for Norfolk included Chelsea Johnson (300 Hurdles) & Claire Sintek (High Jump).
The Norfolk High boys golf team competed in Friday’s Columbus Invite. Papillion La Vista were the team champion with a 303. Norfolk finished seventh out of 14 teams carding a 321. The Panthers were led by Devin Maas’ 77. He placed tenth.
The Norfolk High girls soccer team lost to Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln 3-1 on Friday at the Ralston Invite. Norfolk’s goal came courtesy of Erika Medel off an assist from Jessica Mahan. The 6-8 Lady Panthers will play either Ralston or Platteview on Saturday at 10:00.
