Norfolk High girls tennis team's season reaches conclusion

The Norfolk High girls tennis team’s season has come to conclusion at the State Championships in Omaha.  Kayla Fowler went 1-1 in #1 Singles.  She beat an opponent from Bellevue West in the opening round 3-6, 6-4, and led 3-0 before the opponent retired.  Fowler then lost to an opponent from Millard West in the second round 6-0, 6-1.  Emma Kwapnioski & Whitney Schutt recorded a 1-1 mark in #1 Doubles.  They beat an opponent from Omaha Bryan in the opening round 6-1, 6-0 before losing to a team from Millard North 7-5, 6-0.  McKenzie Essley & Logan Maggart went 1-1 in #2 Doubles.  They defeated an opponent from Omaha Roncalli 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round and then lost to a team from Omaha Marian in the second round 6-3, 6-1.  Emily Kortje lost her opening round match in #1 Singles to an opponent from Lincoln High 3-6, 6-3, 7-6.
