Norfolk High girls golf & cross country
The Norfolk High girls golf team participated in yesterday's Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference Meet at McCook. The host team was the team champion with a 179 team score. They won by seven strokes. Norfolk finished sixth carding a 216. McCook's Breanna Redl was the medalist shooting a 40. She won by three strokes. The Lady Panthers' Sami Bruening placed sixth by shooting a 46 while teammate Allison Temple carded a 48 to place tenth.
The Norfolk High cross country team competed in yesterday's Columbus Invite. In the boys race, Fremont was the team champion with a score of 26. They won by 28 points. Norfolk was fourth with a score of 107. Machol Chol of Grand Island was the champion in 16:26. He won by five seconds. The Panthers' Austin Warren, Andrew Meuret, and Tim Carlson finished 12th-15th respectively. In the girls competition, Omaha Skutt was the team champion with a score of 41. They won by 17 points. Norfolk placed fourth with a score of 73. Erin Krohn of Fremont was the champion in a time of 19:40. She won by 14 seconds. The Lady Panthers' Abby Protzman & Breanna Harthoorn placed fourth & sixth respectively. The Norfolk JV girls team won their race led by first place finisher Madison Reynoldson.
