Norfolk Catholic holds Cross Country Invitational
Norfolk Catholic hosted their cross country invitational yesterday at Skyview Lake. In the boys race, Stanton was the team champion with a score of 59. Pierce was second with 63. Norfolk Catholic totaled 51 points. Individually, Boone Central’s Calvin Koziol won the race in 17:43.46. Norfolk Catholic’s Jared Maguire was second finishing about 13 seconds behind. In the girls race, Boone Central was the winner with a score of 32. Norfolk Catholic was second with 23. Individually, West Point-Beemer’s Aryn Smidt was the champion in a time of 16:31.57. She won the race by just under 26 seconds. Norfolk Catholic’s Joelle Heng placed fourth to lead the Lady Knights.
O’Neill won the boys JV team event with the school’s Joseph Gillham winning the race by a little more than 34 seconds. The Norfolk Catholic girls JV team won their team criteria with the school’s Abby Beller winning the event by a little more than 35 seconds.
Humphrey St. Francis won the boys junior high team race with the school’s Colton Engel claiming the event by just less than five seconds. Norfolk Catholic won the girls junior high team race with Wayne’s Marcella Jurotich winning the event by a little more than a half second.
