Lutheran High Northeast volleyball team moves on to State Tournament Championship Match

The Class “C-2” Two-time Defending State Champion Lutheran High Northeast volleyball team is going back to the State Championship match.  They beat top seeded North Platte St. Patrick’s in four sets in a semifinal match today at Grand Island Senior High.  Scores of the match had the fourth seeded Lady Eagles winning 25-16, 17-25, 25-19, 25-16.  Lutheran High Northeast was led by Morgan Sunderman’s 16 kills and five blocks.  Teammate Morgan Uhlir had 14 kills.  Mandi Uecker recorded 17 digs and ten set assists and Megan Gebhardt added 34 set assists, ten digs, five kills, five blocks, and two aces.  The Lady Eagles are now 30-5 on the season and have won eleven of their last twelve matches.  They will play Hartington Cedar Catholic in the championship on Saturday morning at 11:00 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island.  The third seeded Lady Trojans have won 14 matches in a row after beating Hastings St. Cecilia today in their semifinal match in three sets.  Lutheran High Northeast beat Hartington Cedar Catholic twice already this season.  They defeated the Lady Trojans 2-1 in Wakefield on September 8th and 3-0 in Hartington on September 13.  The Lady Eagles beat Hartington Cedar Catholic in 2010 and Ord in 2011 to claim their crowns.
