Lawdawgs open season with a win

Chuck Wright threw three touchdown passes and Antaries Daniels ran for two scores and caught another as the Nebraska Lawdawgs football team blew out the Burlington Express 48-14 on Saturday night at the Norfolk Middle School Field.  Wright completed 11 of 13 passes and threw for 166 yards in the win.  Daniels had touchdown runs of 24 & 8 yards and caught a 23 yard score from Wright.  Lawdawg backup quarterback Matt Coe also threw a touchdown and ran for another.  The Norfolk-based semipro team jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and led 41-6 after three quarters.  The Lawdawg defense sacked Burlington quarterback Tyler Kibbee eleven times in the contest while holding the Express to 111 yards of total offense.  The Lawdawgs totaled 417 yards of offense in the win and are 1-0 to start the season while Burlington is now 2-4.
