Lawdawgs drop game to Kansas City Panthers

The Nebraska Lawdawg football team dropped a 7-3 decision on Saturday night at home to the Kansas City Panthers.  The lone touchdown of the game was a David Jones 35 yard touchdown pass to Avery Washington in the first quarter to stake the Panthers to a 7-0 lead.  The Norfolk-based Lawdawgs' lone score was a 28 yard field goal by Alan Strong in the fourth quarter.  The Lawdawgs had six turnovers in the game with five fumbles and an interception.  They had 226 yards of total offense while Kansas City mustered only 146.  The Lawdawgs' Adam Simpson led the team in rushing with 54 yards on ten carries.  Quarterback Sam Kurpgeweit was 5-18 for 94 yards an interception.  The Panthers are 1-0 on the season while the Lawdawgs drop to 2-2.  The Lawdawgs will be home next Saturday when they play the Minot Oilers of North Dakota.
