City of Norfolk to be well represented at State Wrestling Meet on Thursday

    The city of Norfolk will be represented on Thursday in day one of the State Wrestling Championships in Omaha after district meets last weekend.  
    Norfolk High finished fourth at the A-4 District Meet at Papillion La Vista High School last Saturday.  Qualifying for the State Championships for the Panthers were Dylan Grey who took fourth at 106 pounds.  TeJai Clausen got third at 113, Caleb Licking was third at 126 pounds, Daniel Kumm took second at 145 pounds, Kyle Freudenburg was third at 170, Cody Merchant got third at 182 pounds, Cameron Dickie was second at 220, and Kyle Temple was the champion at 195 pounds and teammate Christian Hernandez-DeHorta won the title at 285.
    Norfolk Catholic placed fifth at the C-2 District Meet at Wisner/Pilger High School.  Reaching the State Championships next week for the Knights are Dylan Field, who placed second at 145 pounds.  Brandon Becker finished second at 170 pounds, Mitch Hoferer took third at 182, and Joe Lopez got second at 285.
    Lutheran High Northeast placed twelfth in the D-2 District Meet at Neligh/Oakdale High School.  Jacob Woockman won the 220 pound class to qualify for state and brother Cody finished as the runner-up at heavyweight to reach the State Championships.
