Soybeans Can Make Good Forage
COLUMBUS -Many producers are looking for options for their drought-stressed soybeans, and a local UNL extension educator says haying is one possibility. Allan Vyhnalek of Platte County says soybeans can make a quality forage. Vyhnalek says the hard part about putting soybeans up for hay is saving the leaves. He urges not handling the cut beans any more than possible, and crimping so that the stems dry out.
