Six Norfolk homes damaged following sewage pipe blockage
NORFOLK - Norfolk Water Division officials believe the blockage of a city sewer main is believed to have caused damage to a half-dozen homes in the vicinity of 11th Street and Georgia Avenue Friday. City Water Manager Dennis Watts says city water workers responded to a call at approximately 8:30 Friday morning and had the blockage cleared by 8:55. Watts urges residents to be careful as to what they put in the sewage stream. If you have any water or sewer problems, Watts says the Water Division’s phones are manned manned 24-hours-a-day.
