Sioux City Shools Donate Desks, Other Furniture to Wisner-Pilger
WISNER - Wisner-Pilger middle school students lost their school in June when an EF4 tornado ripped through Pilger, destroying the 105-year-old building, along with much of the furniture and fixtures inside. The school has relocated to Wisner for this fall. Classes will be held in three modular buildings. Wisner-Pilger superintendent Chad Boyer says he received a call from the superintendent of Sioux City Public Schools, Dr. Paul Gausman last month, who asked if there was anyway he could help. Boyer says Gausman told him they were closing several buildings and that he donated 70 desks as well as some other furniture and shelving. Boyer says the furniture will be delivered Monday, free of charge by students in the Western Iowa Tech truck-driving program, and and a dozen members of the Sioux City East football team will come along to move it.
