Silver Creek man killed in Nance County crash

FULLERTON - Five of six people involved in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Nance County were NOT wearing seat belts – and one of them was killed.  That’s according to Nebraska State Patrol Troop B Captain Paul Hattan. He says 20-year-old Kyle Frenzen of Silver Creek was one of four occupants in a westbound car that was in a collision with a southbound vehicle in an unmarked rural intersection.  Hattan says alcohol is a suspected factor.  The accident occurred about 7:20 Friday evening at the intersection of 370th Avenue and 580th Street, about 15 miles southeast of Cedar Rapids.  It was not immediately known whether authorities suspected alcohol or speed were contributing factors to the crash.
