Significant Rain Falls In Norfolk

NORFOLK - Over a half-inch of rain fell at one time Wednesday in Norfolk, something that hasn't happened in a long time. The National Weather Service reports the airport received .56 of an inch of rain while .40 fell downtown at the WJAG studios. The last time Norfolk saw that much rain at one time was on May 24th. Norfolk did receive .35 hundredths on June 23rd and .40 on August fourth -- the largest amounts of rain at one-time this summer. No rainfall was reported in the city for the entire month of July.
