Shooting Victim May Be Paralyzed
NORFOLK - The victim in a weekend shooting in Norfolk may be paralyzed from his injuries. The Norfolk Daily News reports that court records indicate 28-year-old Jorge Alberto Zepeda-Flores of Norfolk may have no feeling or movement below his neck. Zepeda-Flores was shot in the face early Saturday morning in front of Club Hollywood, 117 South 3rd Street in Norfolk. A nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City told police that the bullet shattered Zepeda-Flores' jawbone and then damaged several vertebrae in his cervical spine. 28-year-old Jordan Beehn has been arrested in the case, and is being held in the Madison County Jail on $975,000 bail. He faces charges of first degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. Zepeda-Flores was shot when he tried to break up a fight between Jordan Beehn's wife, Kelly, and another woman. According to the Daily News, Zepeda-Flores did not know the Beehns. Jordan and Kelly Beehn were arrested shortly after the incident by Stanton County Sheriff's officers just west of Stanton. Kelly Beehn has been cited for misdemeanor third-degree assault because of the fight.
