Senators ask why Dept. of Education involved with healthcare act

WASHINGTON, D.C. -   A group of U.S. Senators including Nebraska's Deb Fischer and Mike Johanns, is questioning why the Department of Education will be assisting with the dissemination of information regarding healthcare reform.  In a letter, the group states that this healthcare law will be felt by parents, teachers and their families but asks how the Department of Education's involvement has anything to do with their core mission to educate our nation's students.  The senators sent the letter to the U.S.Department of Education.  Some of the questions address funding and staffing dedicated to this effort and why they are involved.
