Senator Fischer calls President's call to reduce country's nuclear arsenal premature
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Deb Fischer believes President Obama is premature in his call to reduce the country's nuclear arsenal by a third. The president called for a reduction in the stockpile of nuclear arms in both the United States and Russia during a speech in Berlin. Fischer notes the United States is reducing its nuclear capabilities in line with the START treaty. Fischer says talks have previously focused on strategic warheads, but that Russia has many more tactical warheads than the United States.
