Search to resume for body of Madison man in Columbus-area lake

COLUMBUS, Neb. (AP) - A helicopter is scheduled to resume the search for the body of a 24-year-old Madison man believed drowned at Lake North near Columbus.  Platte County Sheriff Jon Zavadil says the helicopter, if weather permits, will scan from Lake North down the Loup Canal.  Zavadil says his deputies spent hours on Saturday evening and Sunday searching for the body of Jorge Manuel of Madison.  Authorities say an angler said Manuel and relatives were on the south side of the lake when Manuel went into the water a little before 8 p.m. Saturday. He didn't resurface and is believed to have drowned.  Zavadil says weather and other conditions on Sunday didn't allow divers to search underwater.
