School to Resume Wednesday at Woodland Park

NORFOLK - Students at Norfolk’s Woodland Park Elementary will return to the classroom Wednesday after two days off because of a plumbing issue.  Norfolk Public Schools Director of Student Services Doug Witte says a collar on a water line separated, causing water to run into the building. He says the problem was not related to a break in the pipe or to frozen water lines.  Witte says he was notified of the damage about 6:15 Monday morning, and water was reported in all of the hallways and some classrooms. Students were told to stay home, but staff helped with the clean up.  Witte says work will continue Tuesday on clean up and restoring order to the classrooms, with students returning Wednesday morning.  Witte says he believes the damage will be covered by the district’s insurance policy.
