Sandy Authier to Celebrate 50 Years in Optical

NORFOLK - Most people think if they work at a job for 50 years they'll be ready to retire. But not Sandy Authier at Authier, Miller, Pape Eyecare in Norfolk. She says she has no plans to step aside.  Authier began working as a receptionist at an optical company in Beatrice 50 years ago. She met and married Dr. Rick Authier and they moved to Norfolk in 1967. The Authiers operated eye care offices at several locations in the downtown area, moving to their current location on West Norfolk Avenue in 2001. Authier’s husband retired in 2006, but she has continued to work with low-vision patients and frame providers. She says she will continue to meet with patients.  An open house will be held from 1 until 7 Thursday at Authier, Miller, Pape Eyecare in honor of Sandy Authier’s anniversary, and all patients and friends are invited to stop by.
