Rural Stanton Man Critically Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash
STANTON - A 52-year-old rural Stanton man was critically injured in a two-vehicle accident this morning north of Stanton. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger reports that Kurtis Marotz was driving south on Ridge Road nine miles north of Stanton, when his pickup was struck at the intersection of 845th Road by a westbound pickup driven by 33-year-old Tony Schwartz, also of rural Stanton. Unger says the collision forced the Marotz pickup off the roadway where it rolled, and Marotz was ejected. He was taken from the scene by Life Net medical helicopter to Creighton Medical Center in Omaha with possible spinal and internal injuries. Schwartz was treated at the scene by Stanton Rescue. Unger says seatbelts were not in use at the time of the collision.
