Robinson named to NECC Board of Governors
NORFOLK - The Northeast Community College Board of Governors is once again at full strength with the appointment Thursday of a Norfolk woman to an open position in District Five. Julie Robinson was sworn in at the board’s monthly meeting Thursday in Norfolk. Robinson replaces Peg Niewohner, who resigned earlier this year because of business commitments. Robinson will serve until the next election – in 2014 – and has said she will seek election at that time. Robinson has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She serves as vice president of the Norfolk Public Schools Foundation board and is a member of the Norfolk Community Foundation board. She operates the local Blessings in a Backpack program, providing food for about 200 Norfolk elementary students while they are away from school on weekends.
