Road Rage Leads to Shots Fired

NORFOLK - An incident of road rage apparently led to gunfire in the city of Norfolk Thanksgiving night, but no one was injured. Police Captain Michael Bauer says Matthew Brandl, 26, of Norfolk faces charges of making terroristic threats and use of a firearm to commit a felony following his arrest by Stanton County Sheriff's officers. Bauer reports that Norfolk officers received a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically near 1st and Omaha just before 9 p.m. Thursday. The complainant attempted to confront the erratic driver, later identified as Brandl. At that time, Brandl exited his vehicle and fired a handgun. Both men then got back into their vehicles and left the area. Brandl was arrested a short time later in the 400 block of South Eastwood, just east of Norfolk. He was held in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
