Retiring Norfolk schools superintendent to attend final Board of Education meeting

NORFOLK - Dr. Marlene Uhing will take part in her final school board meeting as Superintendent of Norfolk Public Schools Monday night. As she looks back at the last six years, Uhing says she's spent a large part of that time dealing with financial challenges. Uhing says Norfolk’s was one of the state's highest-spending districts per pupil when she came here, and is now among the lowest-spending. She credits the work of the board of education, other administrators and classroom teachers for achieving those spending cuts while still protecting the best interests of students.
